indian cricket team new dress Mumbai: When Men in Blue take on New Zealand in the first Twenty20 cricket match on February 25, they will be seen in a completely new outfit with a change in colour and design.

Team India is all set to sport a new look, as the team got a brand new kit in darker shade of blue which was unveiled prior to their departure to New Zealand.

The Men in Blue are gearing up for a change with a perfect makeover in their attire which has got a new look for the second time in two years. The existing outfit had been introduced at the time of ICC World Cup in 2007 which will remain as the team’s alternate dress.

Nike, which is the official kit sponsor of Indian cricket team, unveiled the new uniform in Mumbai for ODI and Twenty20 matches in presence of skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni and other cricketers like Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan, Gautam Gambhir, Ishant Sharma and Rohit Sharma.

The new kit is said to have been developed after extensive research by designers and has been put through rigorous tests at the Nike Sports Research Laboratory. The colours of the graphics on the new jersey are inspired from the Indian tri-colour and represent speed and motion.

The launching ceremony was full of extravaganza and became more special when former players like Venkatesh Prasad, Vinod Kambli, Robin Singh and Laxman Sivaramakrishnan also made their presence felt wearing their respective blue jerseys of Team India.

The current bunch of players who were present to mark the occasion made heads turn with a catwalk in their brand new attire.
Now, we should hope that the new colour and technology of the uniform would add more colour and zing in the performances of Team India. The uniform definitely needed a facelift and it is good to see a new set of dresses for the Men in Blue, though the spirit of blue is very much there.

Team India would be eager to set records right in New Zealand, as they were handed a drubbing by the Kiwis on the last tour.
