The prototype V8 Tau engine features a screw-type roots supercharger, a novel clutched pulley mechanism, water-to-air intercooler and cylinder de-activation. According to Hyundai powertrain development engineers, the engine deliver 30% more power and torque while at the same time reduces the fuel consumption by upto 8% compared to the naturally aspirated 380 bhp Tau V8, thanks to the cylinder deactivation technology.

There are currently no plans to introduce this engine in any of their products but who knows, we might see a Genesis R-Spedc sedan rivalling the M3 very soon!
