Long card of 11 events , which would test the patience of all those associated with the sport.Not sure how many of US would be Winners at the end of the day.

1.VB Race for the youngsters.

Optimist , the Giant and Fire Queen are the Horses in with a chance to score.

Look for race time trends and odds and decide on the bet accordingly.


2.Another VB race .

Mrs Jones / Cherokee / Tembung.

Look for race time trends and odds and decide on the bet accordingly.

I do feel that Cherokee was not handled properly in its earlier outing. But this is a different bunch and earlier run may not make be of much importance in deciding the merit .At EVEN money or less , why take a chance.

Tembung can be considered for a Place bet .

Forest Music is a WINNER and by that logic can be expected to PLACE.

Flaring Sun , tracked extensively but SMALL time Trainer with NIL Wins for nearly 5/6 years does not instill confidence.$ year old making debut by itself is a negative SIGN.


3.Matata Pride , La Joie De Vie / Western Challenge.

Winners are preferred always over maidens and Western Challenge has been the biggest dissappointment so far. Why chase losers .The better option is to follow them after their First WIN.

Matata Pride has better bloodlines and also a WINNER earlier in pune. So a each way bet can be considered.

La Joie De Vie must place here going by the Western Challenge Factor.It can also WIN if the bad luck associated with W.C Continues.

Very Bonafide is the genuine horse here capable of doing well but for the Jockey.


4. POLARISER :

if not HERE , then May be Never or should i qualify as saying that If not here then only in Delhi / Kolkata / Chennai.( with due apologies to those who hail from these centre;s)

Queens Court , Legal Eye and Expensive Affair all have a decent chance to place.


5. Top Action , Intimacy / Sepia Tone.


Judging on merit there are only 2 contenders but if handicap and benefit of race run is considered then the above Three come into contention.


6.Not sure of the Fitness levels of many of the horses her due to limited track work.

Diego Riveria /Angelique / Running Bull.

R.Snow will be fancied based on its recent performances but i get the feeling that the Mumbai course will not be suited to this Horse .If it WINS , GOOD for those who back it.

Diego Riveria has turned out to be the best Miler in the country and it would be a good each way bet.May be conceding weight but has the class to tilt the scales in favour.

YANA , the book which i refer , as also the ir,.com site , does not reflect much track work.If the Horse is half fit then i guess none of the runners have the chance to catch up.

Running Bull , can place.

Angelique has the handicap in favour.Be ready for the surprise if any.

The Hurricane , is a classy horse but Jockey merit is lacking to make a difference.



7.Sea Princess / Dancing Dynamite / Autonomy.

Amongst the 2 fancied runners , i go for DD over Autonomy though both are evenly matched.Bloodlines of Autonomy may look superior and may have run with superior company so to say , but DD did WIN on debut beating ICE BREAKER and has lost only ONE race since.Autonomy on the Other hand , has the Red Romeo factor in favour.

Sea Princess is for the BRAVE Hearts.


8.Aristocratic / Sans Peril / Harmonica / Forest Flair.

First named may have finished behind Forest Flair in race 16 , but on relative Jockey merit , One would have to consider Aristocratic as the better Horse.

Sans peril , was a EXPENSIVE failure in home center.Can hope to make amends here.

Harmonica did show some good movement in the last furlong in race 16 and can PLACE.


9.Star Always / Angels GLory / Call to Arms / River Dancer.

I would prefer to bet on STAR ALWAYS here.

Call to Arms looks very good for place.

River Dancer has speed as its forte and can upset.

Angels Glory , below 75 % Return on investment ( in 1/2 hour ) is not worth the risk.


10.Here Comes the Don / Pace Maker / Royal Crown.

Rc was Gifted a race by POLARISER .Not many here would give that LUXURY in this race.

New Trainer ( Horses earlier with Nana Raghunath ) S.Shaikh may try to make a impression on debut on ELEMENTTO Angel.


11.Kai / Maverik / Medtia's Pride / Pacific Zone

Need for Speed was unable to quicken in previous outing and after looking like WINNING the race , did not figure on board.Hence indications are not looking positive.

Matata Pride was ONE BIG long shot in race 18. Demotee here but allowance Jockey has proved his worth recently.But can only place.

Maverik is one genuine contender here.Should be in the fighting line.

It is indeed very very difficult to shotlist bets when there are 11 races scheduled for the day. Individual race bets would happen based on race time trends and ODDS , but COMBINATIOn bets based on personal fancies and morning odds would be as follows .
